Member's Playing Commitment

One of the most difficult operational issues which we face in EMASS is the problem raised by players' absences from games during the season due to (i) personal injury, health or other unexpected emergency events, or (ii) otherwise. We cannot anticipate or for that matter do anything about the former, such is life. However, the "otherwise" absences are certainly preventable. These types of absences have a very adverse effect on the entire competitive balance of the Divisions and the results are just not fair to the Members who consistently and regularly meet their playing commitments.

BY COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS, EVERY MEMBER AGREES (SUBJECT TO PERSONAL INJURY, HEALTH OR OTHER UNEXPECTED LIFE EMERGENCY EVENTS) TO PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST 80% OF THE REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULED PLAYING DATES.

IF A MEMBER'S CUMULATIVE ABSENCES DURING THE SEASON WOULD REASONABLY LEAD THE DIVISION COORDINATOR TO BELIEVE THAT THE PLAYER IS ON A PACE TO FAIL TO MEET THE 80% PLAYING DATE COMMITMENT, THE PLAYER IS SUBJECT TO REMOVAL FROM HIS/HER ASSIGNED TEAM AND MAY ALSO RESULT IN THE PLAYER BEING DENIED PLAYING MEMBERSHIP IN FUTURE SEASONS.

ANY PLAYER FAILING TO MEET THE 80% COMMITMENT DURING THE REGULAR SEASON MAY, UPON REVIEW OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES BY THE DIVISION COORDINATOR AND THE COMMISSIONER, BE PROHIBITED FROM PLAYING IN THE PLAYOFFS AND/OR DENIED PLAYING MEMBERSHIP IN FUTURE SEASONS.

If you believe that you cannot make this commitment, BEFORE registering please contact the Commissioner, in order to discuss your personal situation.
